Hi,
This extension is good in its simplicity.
In addition to the other suggestions proposed may I suggest a field for a file icon, to indicate the type of file being downloaded.
Also, a way to paginate the numbers of file shown would be nice. For example, if the file repository was a list pdf newsletters it would be handy to show the latest issues, with older issues being accessed by a "show more" link, which could be customised.
