I work with Joomla for some time now but I think some components aren't practicle and much to complicated to much written with a weblog community in mind. What I want (I'm sure I'm not the only one) is a simple download page without integrated user upload and access level (this can be done with Joomla) See this example without all the rubbish you get with Docman etc. This is phpwcms: http://www.tonometer.nl/index.php?downloads

I am working on it. You can see a small preview in our Download Section. You are able to remove info such as file size, bug tracker, suggestion tracker, version etc... fully customizable

It will be ready these days.

Yep, That looks simple enough to make me and lots of other people happy. Joomla is great but you are most of the time forced to a certain look and feel. You are changing that and I think that's great.

OK, all the bugs/suggestions in this post should be now fixed. the only problem is that you cannot use the upgrade button in your beta version yet, because i fixed something there too. I uploaded the new 1.0.0beta. You have to download it, uninstall the old component & install the new 1.0.0beta. It's kind of silly but that's the last time this happens, because the upgrade utility will work from now.

Great Component - Congrats. The tracker/suggestion feature is very good.

Feature request: An RSS Feed for every category - kind of versioning system to keep track of new versions.

I would like to provide a german translation. Please advise me if you already have one - otherwise i would upload it to the german joomlacode location when finished.
