Calendar not working in Opera 2007/05/11 15:09 Karma: 1
Calendar simply doesn't work with Opera browser. Checked it on PC and Mac.
I used Opera to fill out this form taken from demo at pimpmyjoomla.com: link

So there is definitely something wrong with forme itself and it is crossplatform / crossbrowser bug.

In IE, FF it causes a unresponsive script warning, in Opera submit button and calendar doesn't work at all.

Can you tell me what opera version you have? I tested it on Opera 9.20 and it works.

Have tried with 9.01 on Linux and I can confirm that the problem exists.

The behaviour is that the calendar shows, but does not take action when a day is clicked.

It is interesting to see that if I set opera to Mask as Internet Explorer or to Mask as Mozilla, the calendar works fine.

So, something in the code (javascript probably) acts different in the way the browser identifies itself.

if this is code in Javascript, the "right way (tm)" is to try to catch exceptions to see what is available, instead of relying on how the broser identifies itself.

It is interesting that even on Konqueror the calendar works. So it might be something related explicit to Opera.

Oh, damn, i thought i tested it, but the same issue is present in Opera 9.20. The calendar shows, but you cannot choose a date. I will study if this is a Forme error or a global Joomla issue, since the calendar is a Joomla core part.

Hello to all,

only small hint.
Opera/jsCalander problem, I think, on Joomla side.
I find this bug few days ago.
Simply test. Open any content, go to Publishing tab end test it to change, for example Override Created Date in Opera.
The calendar show, but you can't change date with mouse click.
Very interesant - you can change by arrow keys and confirm with Enter!

Only FYI, Alex.
